Raised/Standard: Produced directly from the press, standard expanded metal features an angled, textured surface with raised strands. This creates excellent traction and strength, making it ideal for walkways, platforms, ramps, and security applications.

Flat: Made by cold-rolling standard expanded metal, flat expanded metal has a smooth, level surface with uniform thickness. This makes it easier to work with when attaching to frames, covering surfaces, or in decorative applications where a clean finish is preferred.
